Merkur hops are getting a fast reputation as a great bittering hop. It was bred from Magnum one of our all time favorite bittering hops. Except Merkur has a lower co-humulone level which can lead to a smoother bitterness.  It is considered a dual purpose hops also suitable for lending some nice aroma.
